Àireamhan - Numbers

Àireamhan - Numbers

Hi a h-uile duine. Failte air ais gu Cròileagan air-loidhne. Tha sinn an dochas gu bheil sibh gu math, agus gun do chord an sneachd ruibh uile.

An t-seachdainn seo tha òran agus crafts againn mu dheidhinn àireamhan. This week our songs and crafts are going to be all about Numbers. Back to basics but with some new ideas for using them at home.

We are very aware there will be children that are due to move up to Nursery and that they won’t have had as much exposure to the language as they would have should we be in ‘normal’ times, so using the basics, such as Numbers and colours is a great way to introduce the sounds and help them feel familiar with some of the vocabulary that they will be exposed to in a nursery setting. It may not seem much but it definitely helps!

The short video for these numbers can be found here

Here are a couple of simple songs that using our numbers.

ACTIVITIES

You have the choice of a few activities this week, or you can even try doing them all.

Why don’t you try making a number rocket (rocaid), and practice counting down from deich gu aon

To help with recognising numbers that are out of sequence you could try playing number bingo. You can make your own bingo sheets and use whatever you have lying around the house as counters, we used grapes, though they needed to be topped up as they would mysteriously vanish quite often 🤔

And finally, with the weather looking like it should be nice and mild this week, why don’t you get outside and see what sort of games that you can incorporate numbers into. An example below is a hunt to find objects to match the numbers.

That is all for now, please remember that we are here if you would like any support. You can get in touch and keep up to date with other resources that are available through our facebook page. We love seeing and hearing about what you have been up to! We hope that we will get to see you all in person very soon.
