Teaghlach (2)

We continued learning our words about families this week.

Mamaidh - mummy
Dadaidh - daddy
Leanabh beag - little baby
Piuthar - sister
Bràthair - brother
Teaghlach - family
Cù - dad
Cat/piseag - cat
Antaidh - Auntie
Uncail - Uncle
Seanair - Grandfather
Seanmhair - grandmother

At craft time we made family trees. On the leaves we wrote the names of the people in our families.

At song time we sang the same song again, ‘Co tha còmhla rinn an-diugh?’ - who is with us today?

Teaghlach

We had some little books to give out this week, and th first few pages were about family so we decided to make that our theme for a couple of weeks.

We learned the words:

Mamaidh - mummy
Dadaidh - daddy
Leanabh beag - little baby
Piuthar - sister
Bràthair - brother
Teaghlach - family
Cù - dog
Cat/piseag - cat

At craft time we made paper houses and drew our families inside them.

Our song this week was ‘Cò tha còmhla rinn an-diugh?’ - who is with us today?

Dè an latha a th’ ann an-diugh? (2)

We continued looking at the days of the week for a second week.

Diluain - Monday
Dimàirt - Tuesday
Diciadain - Wednesday
Diardaoin - Thursday
Dihaoine - Friday
Disathairne - Saturday
Là na Sàbaid - Sunday

And we also revised the question ‘Dè an latha a th’ ann an-diugh?’ - What day is it today?

You can hear how to pronounce these words by watching this clip here.

We sang the same song as last week, with the words on the handout above. If you would like to print out your own copy of the handout you can find it here.
