Cuairt-danach - Adventures!

Fàilte air ais gu Cròileagan!

Cò tha comhla rinn an duigh?

As we begin another week of lockdown in Edinburgh, our new online version of Cròileagan continues. Just to remind you all, we will continue to post our weekly newsletter with craft and song and words to learn. We can't do circle time (we miss it!) like normal so we will add soundfiles to this blog or link to ones elsewhere online that you can use with your wee ones. We will be choosing crafts that we think most people will have the materials for at home and we would love to see pictures of your inventions if you don't mind sharing them! The easiest way for you to send them to us is probably by Facebook messenger to our page, or you could also email them to us.

An t-seachdain seo

This week we are continuing with our imaginary adventures!

Abairt na Seachdain

Our words for this week are:

Tiugainn! - Let’s go!
Càit an tèid sinn an-duigh? - Where will we go today?
Co bhios sinn an-duigh? - What/who will we be today?
Spùinneadair - Pirate
Còcaire - Cook
Speuradair - Astronaut
(Tiugainn) Dhachaigh - (Let’s go) Home

You can hear how to pronounce these words by clicking here.

Craft time

Why not try making a map for your adventures? You can venture into the garden if you have one, or simply explore your home! You could even make a paper 'x' to mark a spot somewhere - what treasures can you find?

If you have some toilet roll tubes or card in the house why not try making your own glainneachan-prosbaig (binoculars)? You can watch a video of one of our playleaders showing you how to make them here on our Youtube channel.

Song time

Our song this week is "Is toigh leam a bhith a-muigh" - "I like to be outside". You can listen to the song being sung here as part of a new set of children's Gaelic songs put together by Storlann.

Don’t forget to share your art work with us, and we can share it all at the end of the week. We would really love to see what everyone is doing.

Stay safe!

An Sgioba Cròileagan 🙂
